If you would like to change the color completely of your metal
pieces and charms. Here is a easy way! You can get lots of different
color variations.
Sophisticated Finishes is made by Triangle Crafts and is what is known as a surfacer, it can be found at Micheals, and at most craft stores. It will completely cover your metal pieces. You can use the Sophisticated Finishes alone, however, I like to add metallic powders by Jacquard for greater dept and a metallic finish. On the metal piece above I used Gold Metallic Surfacer and copper powder and painted it on with a sponge brush. Three parts Sophisticated Finishes to one part copper powder. If you want more definition in your charm, add some dark brown or black staz-on (solvent based ink) after it dries. Sophisticated Finishes in Silver mixed with blue and green Jacquard Powders has a wonderful effect also. Play and create the colors you want. This is a wonderful way to add continuity to your project. Have a creative day!
