Supplies Needed: Remnant of Linoleum, can be purchased at your local
home repair store 1) Start by preparing your surface. Cut Vinyl to
size desired using heavy kitchen shears. Work on wrong
side of vinyl, the side that feels almost like fabric. Lightly sand
surface and edges with fine sand paper. Remove grit
with tack cloth. Seal with Kilz water based sealer
using a paint roller or sponge brush, let dry. Lightly
sand again. 6) Thin down your Elmer's glue all to the consistency of cream. Using a single stroke, apply two coats to surface with a soft brush, letting coats dry for 1 hour in between. Let cure for 48 hours. 7) Apply two coats of water based semi-gloss varnish with a soft brush. I like Minwax semi-gloss water based varnish. Let dry. Tips & Hints: Don't apply varnish with a roller or sponge, it forms air bubbles. Don't apply paint with a brush it can leave strokes. Make sure your paints and sealers are dry, if it is cold to the touch it is not dry. You can speed up the drying process by using a hair dryer on low heat about 6 inches from project.
